About the band
Nina Speaking is a four-piece cover band specializing in the best of '90s alternative and rock. Whether we're cranking up the amps for a full electric show or keeping things intimate with an acoustic set, we tailor every performance to fit the venue and the crowd.
For audience members that want to feel like a part of the show, our live Juke request system lets audience members send song requests in real time, turning every show into a personalized soundtrack. It's a fun, interactive way to keep audiences engaged, singing along, and enjoying the music they love.
Since forming in 2013, Nina Speaking has entertained audiences throughout the Valley at bars, breweries, festivals, private events, and corporate functions. We pride ourselves on being easy to work with by communicating promptly, honoring our commitments, and delivering a professional, high-energy performance every time.
For the curious: our name is a nod to the cult classic 90s movie: Office Space. If you get the reference, you're already one of us.
Nina Speaking provides professional sound, stage lighting, and enough music to keep the party going for up to five hours.
Meet the guys!

Nate founded Nina Speaking in 2013 after years of performing as a solo acoustic musician. Introduced to music by his father at an early age, he's accumulated more than 25 years of performing experience. Outside the band, he creates multi-instrument cover videos as Nate's One Man Duet, while also playing odd varieties of a range of instruments, proving that sleep is optional.
Favorite 90s band: Marcy Playground or Radiohead, depending on the current existential crisis level
Special Ability: Can somehow find a way to add blinking lights to just about anything

Chris is our resident guitar wizard, bringing over 30 years of musical experience and 23 years on guitar. His musical journey has taken him through bands in New England, Montana, Southern California, and Arizona. While progressive rock and jazz are his true loves, he's equally at home ripping through '90s rock classics. Rumor has it he occasionally plays two-hour guitar solos... though his neighbors insist that's less "rumor" and more "noise complaint." He also has an unwavering appreciation for cake.
Favorite 90s band: Stone Temple Pilots
Special Ability: Can probably identify a guitar pedal by smell.

Originally from New Jersey, Chris has spent more than 35 years behind the drum kit, providing the heartbeat for bands across a wide variety of musical styles. Inspired by his father's love of performing, he has been entertaining audiences since childhood and brings energy, precision, and a smile to every show. When he's not keeping us on tempo, you'll probably find him riding roller coasters, sipping coffee, or quoting South Park far more often than anyone asked.
Favorite 90s band: Alice In Chains or Soundgarden, depending on his mood
Special Ability: Powered almost entirely by coffee and cymbal crashes.

Sean's musical journey began at age 13 when he picked up his first guitar, and he's been chasing great songs ever since. Over the years he's played in several Arizona bands covering everything from Iron Maiden to Blink-182, giving him a musical passport with plenty of stamps. Sean keeps the groove locked in while making everything sound just a little bigger. When he's not thumping bass strings, you'll likely find him camping or hiking with his family.
Favorite 90s band: Tool
Special Ability: Proudly ignores the traditional four string limit, giving the band an extra dimension of low-end goodness!
